One of the most common questions I'm asked, is why are you a face painter?
I've given this some thought and have come up with a few interesting theories......
Maybe it's because I'm a magpie? After all, I'm attracted (or addicted) to all things shiny, bright and colourful. This could certainly explain why I'm filled with an insane joy and rearrange my whole day to be home when the postman delivers my "essential supplies". I definitely love my kit! Then there's the road trip to
, but that's a story for another day.
Moving on, maybe I secretly want to be a unicorn? Ooh, I love this idea, after all, they are very popular. They have stunning, flowing, low maintenance rainbow manes and yet manage to disappear right into thin air!
My last theory revolves round leggings. I love embracing a theme, so perhaps it's having a great reason to hop online and shop for that special pair, just perfect to wear to your party or event.
Whilst all these theories are great, especially the unicorn one, I was reminded today (whilst wearing my gingerbread man leggings) why I'm a face painter.
Today has been a very lovely Sunday! A special little girl, surrounded with joy and love, celebrated her first birthday. Her family asked me to join them, along with my rainbow paints, sparkling bling and glitter.
Her family and friends came together, her Mum Natalie from
designed and made a stunning and scrummy cake and decorated the venue with balloons. I set up my kit and we started to have some fun. When the children had been transformed, the adults wanted to play too. Many selfies later, it was time to pack up and go home. I hope tomorrow and in the years ahead, they will talk about Ivy's first birthday party, recalling all those special "remember when" moments that we made today.
This is why I'm a Professional Face Painter and I believe my fun and vibrant art creates memories for your and your guests. And you know what else is great? Every face I paint is making fun and vibrant memories for me too!
See you soon,
Helen x
